COVID-19: Nigeria records 252 new cases, as total hits 52,800

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday, confirmed 252 new cases of COVID-19 bringing total number of infections in the country to 52,800.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) revealed that 3 new deaths were recorded pushing the country’s fatality rate to 1,007, while 707 persons recovered from the virus on Tuesday.

The 252 new cases are reported from 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Plateau reported the day’s highest infections with 50 new cases, while Enugu has 35,

Other states with new cases are: Rivers -27, Lagos -26, FCT -18, Kaduna -18, Ekiti -10, Kano -10, Taraba -9, Anambra -8, Edo -8, Oyo (8), Delta -7, Ogun -6, Abia -5, Bayelsa -5, Ebonyi -1, Osun -1.

Till date, 52,800 cases have been confirmed, 39,964 cases have been discharged and 1,007 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
