COVID-19: Nigeria records 28 new cases, total now 254,598

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 28 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 254,598.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 48 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.  

The 28 new cases are reported from 4 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported with 18 new cases followed by Kano -4.

Other states with new cases include FCT -3, Rivers -2 and Kaduna -1

Till date, 254,598 have been confirmed 249,138 cases have been discharged and 3,142 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
