COVID-19: Nigeria records 281 new cases, total now 205,765
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 281 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 205,765.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Thursday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 135 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 19 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,720.
The 281 new cases are reported from 12 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 111 new cases followed by Lagos 34 and Edo 33.
Other states with new cases include, Kwara-20, Plateau-20, Rivers-17, Abia-10, Imo-8, Delta-7, Nasarawa-7, Ekiti-6, Akwa Ibom-3 and Oyo-2.
Till date, 205,765 cases have been confirmed, 193,617 cases have been discharged and 2,720 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
