COVID-19: Nigeria records 284 new cases, total now 207,978

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 284 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 207, 978.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Monday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 352 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 9 new COVID-19 related deaths  were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,756.

The 284 new cases are reported from 19 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 67 new cases followed by Kaduna -33 and Rivers-31.

Other states with new cases include Anambra-23, Lagos-22, Osun-22, Cross River-18, Edo-18, Ondo-13, Plateau-12, Nasarawa-6, Kwara-5, Imo-4, Benue-3, Niger-2, Delta-1, Ekiti-1, Jigawa-1, Ogun-1 and Oyo-1.

Till date, 207, 978 cases have been confirmed, 195,626 cases have been discharged and 2,756 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
