COVID-19: Nigeria records 290 new cases, total now 207,210

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 290 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 207,210.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Thursday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 145 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 2 new COVID-19 related deaths  were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,742.

The 290 new cases are reported from 14 states of the federation and the federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 127 new cases followed by Lagos - 45 and Kaduna – 28.

Other states with new cases include Delta-18, Kwara-17, Plateau-13, Zamfara-10, Rivers-8, Imo-6, Ekiti-5, Nasarawa-4, Edo-3, Ondo-3, Akwa Ibom-2 and Oyo-1.

Till date, 207,210 cases have been confirmed, 194,796 cases have been discharged and 2,742 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
