COVID-19: Nigeria records 296 new cases, total now 55,456

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday confirmed 296 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the country to 55,456.

The health agency (NCDC) disclosed this via its official twitter handle.

Data from the NCDC shows that 103 patients were discharged on Tuesday while 6 persons lost their lives raising the death toll to 1,067

The 296 new cases are reported from 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory Capital (FCT).

Plateau recorded the highest number of cases with 183 new infections followed by Lagos -33 and FCT -25.

Other states include Ogun -16, Oyo -7, Ekiti -6, Kwara -5, Ondo -5, Imo -3, Anambra -3, Nasarawa -3, Rivers -2, Gombe 2, Edo -2 and Akwa Ibom -1

Till date, 55,456 cases have been confirmed, 43,334 cases have been discharged and 1,067 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
