COVID-19: Nigeria records 297 new cases, total now 206,920

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 297 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 206,920.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 176 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result with 9 new COVID-19 related death increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,740.

The 297 new cases are reported from 13 states of the federation and the federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 104 new cases followed by Lagos -40, Gombe -28, Rivers -27 and Plateau -21.

Other states with new cases include Edo -14, Benue -13, Kano -12, Kaduna -13, Benue -12, Osun -10, Ondo -6, Imo -5, Delta -2 and Ekiti -1

Till date, 206, 920 cases have been confirmed, 194,651 cases have been discharged and 2,740 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
