COVID-19: Nigeria records 299 new cases, total now 200,356

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 299 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 200,356.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 198 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 3 new COVID-19 related death were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,640.

The 299 new cases are reported from 15 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 94 new infections followed by Ondo- FCT-30, Oyo-27, Bayelsa-23 and Rivers-20.

Other states with new cases include Edo-17, Taraba-17, Kwara-15, Benue-14, Delta-11, Osun-10, Ekiti-9, Gombe-4, Plateau-4, Kano-2, and Ogun-2.

Till date, 200,356 cases have been confirmed, 188,917 cases have been discharged and 2,640 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
