COVID-19: Nigeria records 336 new cases, total now 201,630

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 336 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 201,630.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 680 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 5 new COVID-19 related death were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,654.

The 336 new cases are reported from 16 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 86 new infections followed by Benue-48, Rivers-46 and Bauchi-41.

Other states with new cases include Edo-25, FCT-19, Akwa Ibom-13, Ondo-12, Anambra-11, Ekiti-8, Kwara-7, Plateau-7, Bayelsa-4, Kaduna-4, Delta-2, Ogun-2, and Kano-1.

Till date, 201,630 cases have been confirmed, 190,288 cases have been discharged and 2,654 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
