COVID-19: Nigeria records 337 new cases, total now 201,294

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 337 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 201,294.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Friday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 262 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 2 new COVID-19 related death were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,649.

The 337 new cases are reported from 15 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 142 new infections followed by Rivers-32, Edo-30, Delta-25 and Kwara-23.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna-16, Oyo-16, Plateau-12, FCT-11, Akwa Ibom-10, Kano -10, Ogun-3, Ekiti-2, Gombe-2, Imo-2 and Nasarawa-1

Till date, 201,294 cases have been confirmed, 189,608 cases have been discharged and 2,649 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
