COVID-19: Nigeria records 343 new cases, as total exceed 68,000
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 343 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 68,303.
The NCDC made this known via its official website on Thursday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 452 coronavirus patients who were successfully treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result while 2 new deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,179.
The 343 new cases are reported from 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
FCT tops the day’s infection chart with 123 new cases followed by Lagos -106 and Kaduna -72.
Other states with new cases include Nasarawa -14, Rivers -5, Bauchi -4, Imo -4, Ogun -4, Ekiti -3 Edo -2, Oyo -2, Plateau -2 Akwa Ibom -1 and Kano -1
Till date, 68,303 cases have been confirmed, 64,291 cases have been discharged and 1,179 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
