COVID-19: Nigeria records 365 new cases, total now 199,151

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 365 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 199,151.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Sunday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 343 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 8 new COVID-19 related death were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,598.

The 365 new cases are reported from 7 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 209 new infections followed by Ondo -88 and FCT -31.

Other states with new cases include Rivers-16, Ebonyi-11, Kaduna-6, Ekiti-3 and Plateau-1.

Till date, 199,151 cases have been confirmed, 186,418 cases have been discharged and 2,598 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
