COVID-19: Nigeria records 37 new cases, total now 253,875

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 37 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 253,875.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 10 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.

The 37 new cases are reported from 5 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 16 new infections followed by FCT -11.

Other states with new infections include Katsina -4, Kano -3, Rivers -2 and Kaduna -1

Till date, 253,875 have been confirmed 230,221 cases have been discharged and 3,139 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
