COVID-19: Nigeria records 371 new cases, total now 158,042

The Nigeria Centre for Disease (NCDC) has recorded 371 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 158,042.

The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Friday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 690 Coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 3 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,954.

The 371 new cases are reported from 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country recorded 101 new infections followed by Rivers -54 and Anambra -31.

Other states with new cases include Ebonyi -23, Imo -23, Kwara -22, Kano -20, Taraba -17, Akwa Ibom -16, FCT -15, Abia -13, Kaduna -13, Osun -5, Edo -4, Oyo -4, Kebbi -3, Ogun -3, Ekiti -2, Nasarawa -1, and Zamfara -1

Till date, 158,042 cases have been confirmed, 137,025 cases have been discharged and 1,954 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
