COVID-19: Nigeria records 387 new cases, total now 199,538

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 387 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 199, 538.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Monday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 2,009 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 21 new COVID-19 related death were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,619.

The 387 new cases are reported from 15 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 114 new infections followed by Rivers -91.

Other states with new cases include FCT-32, Edo-31, Delta-28, Kwara-20, Bayelsa-18, Akwa Ibom-15, Oyo-10, Osun-8, Gombe-5, Plateau-5, Ekiti-4, Ogun-3, Kano-2 and Kaduna-1.

Till date, 199,538 cases have been confirmed, 188,427 cases have been discharged and 2,619 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
