COVID-19: Nigeria records 404 new cases, total now 223,887
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 404 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 223,887.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Sunday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 15 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,985.
The 404 new cases are reported from 11 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Oyo topped the day’s infections chart with 122 new cases followed by FCT -84, Lagos -52 and Kaduna -51.
Other states with new cases include Imo-20, Delta-18, Kano-17, Kwara-16, Rivers-11, Enugu-10, Ogun-2 and Edo-1.
Till date, 223,887 cases have been confirmed 211,537 cases have been discharged and 2,985 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
