COVID-19: Nigeria records 418 new cases, as total exceed 73,000

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 418 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 73,175.

The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Sunday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 240 coronavirus patients who were successfully treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result while 3 new deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,197.

The 418 new cases are reported from 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicentre of the virus recorded 113 new infections followed by FCT -86 and Abia -47.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna 39, Rivers -27, Katsina -22, Benue -14, Oyo -13, Kano -12, Enugu -8, Edo -7, Imo -7, Bauchi -6, Ebonyi -6, Ogun -6, Ondo -4, and Nasarawa -1

Till date, 73,175 cases have been confirmed, 66,090 cases have been discharged and 1,197 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
