COVID-19: Nigeria records 42 new cases, total now 166,061

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 40 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 166,061.

The NCDC disclosed this via its official twitter handle on Monday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 16 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres across the nation.

The 42 new cases are reported from 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 14 new infections followed by Gombe 11.

Other states with new cases include Ebonyi -5, Kano -5, FCT -4, Edo -1, Kaduna -1, Rivers -1

Till date, 166,061 cases have been confirmed, 156,492 cases have been discharged and 2,067 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
