COVID-19: Nigeria records 423 new cases, total now 250,009

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 423 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 250,009.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 364 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.

The 423 new cases are reported from 16 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 120 new infections followed by Rivers-118.

Other states with new cases include,  Anambra -38, FCT -32, Gombe -31, Kaduna -21, Oyo -14, Benue -11, Cross River -10, Kwara -9, Borno -5, Kano -5, Bauchi -3, Jigawa -3, Abia -1, Ogun -1 and Sokoto -1.

Till date, 250,009 have been confirmed 221, 203 cases have been discharged and 3,092 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
