COVID-19: Nigeria records 437 new cases, total now 205,484

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 437 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 205,484.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 222 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 6 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,701.

The 437 new cases are reported from 17 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 126 new infections followed by Rivers-76, Kwara-44, FCT-37, Edo-32 and Kaduna-30.

Other states with new cases include Anambra-22, Delta-22, Osun-12, Benue-7, Abia-6, Nasarawa-6, Kano-5, Ekiti-3, Plateau -3, Bayelsa-2, Ogun-2 and Oyo-2.

Till date, 205,484 cases have been confirmed, 193,482 cases have been discharged and 2,701 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
