COVID-19: Nigeria records 44 new cases, total now 165,559
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 44 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 165,559.
The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Wednesday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 16 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres across the nation while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,066.
The 44 new cases are reported from 4 states of the federation.
Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country reported 28 new infections followed by Rivers 14, Akwa Ibom -1 and Ekiti -1.
Till date, 165,559 cases have been confirmed, 156,374 cases have been discharged and 2,066 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
