COVID-19: Nigeria records 444 new cases, total now 194,088

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 444 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 194,088.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Friday. 

“Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 385 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 7 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,495.

The 444 new cases are reported from 19 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Edo topped the day’s infections chart with 71 new cases followed by Akwa Ibom-49, Kwara-49, Oyo-49.

Other states with new cases include Rivers-38, Kaduna-21, Ekiti-20, FCT-19, Kastina-19, Anambra-17, Delta-16, Kano-16, Bauchi-14, Ogun-11, Bayelsa-9,  Benue-9, Cross River-7, Nasarawa-5, Jigawa-2, Zamfara-2 and Enugu-1

Till date, 194,088 cases have been confirmed, 179, 679 cases have been discharged and 2,495 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
