COVID-19: Nigeria records 48 new cases, total now 166,146

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 48 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 166.146.

The NCDC disclose this via its official twitter handle on Wednesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 1 coronavirus patient was successfully treated and discharged from the treatment centre.

The 48 new cases are reported from 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country reported 22 new infections followed by Rivers -11 and Enugu -11.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna -2, FCT -1 and Gombe -1.

 Till date, 166,146 cases have been confirmed, 156,529 cases have been discharged and 2,071 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
