COVID-19: Nigeria records 49 new cases, total now 165,661
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 49 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 165,661.
The NCDC made this know via its official twitter handle on Friday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 12 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.
The 49 new cases are reported from 5 states of the federation.
Enugu topped the day’s infections chart with 22 new cases followed by Lagos -18, Rivers -6, Akwa Ibom -2 and Edo -1.
Till date, 165,661 cases have been confirmed, 156,399 cases have been discharged and 2,066 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
