COVID-19: Nigeria records 49 new cases, total now 165,901
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 49 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 165,901.
The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Thursday.
Data from the health agency reveals that 3 new coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.
The 49 new cases are reported from 6 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 21 new infections followed by Rivers -16,.
Other states with new cases include FCT -5, Kano -3, Akwa Ibom -2, Ebonyi -1, and Ekiti -1.
Till date, 165,901 cases have been confirmed, 156,459 cases have been discharged and 2,067 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
