COVID-19: Nigeria records 51 new cases, total now 213,127

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 51 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 213,127.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 8 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 11 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,960.

The 51 new cases are reported from 5 states of the federation.

Katsina topped the day’s infections chart with 34 new cases followed by Lagos with 11 infections.

Other states with new cases include Kano-3, Cross River-2 and Bauchi-1.

Till date, 213,127 cases have been confirmed 205,491 cases have been discharged and 2,960 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
