COVID-19: Nigeria records 513 new cases, total now 202,704
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 513 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 202,704.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Tuesday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 469 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 3 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,664.
The 513 new cases are reported from 19 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 132 new infections followed by FCT-80, Rivers-70, Kaduna-43 and Edo-40.
Other states with new cases include Ondo-32, Delta-23, Akwa Ibom-21, Kwara-16, Gombe-12, Anambra-9, Benue-9, Kano-7, Oyo 6, Borno-3, Plateau-3, Bayelsa-2, Kastina-2, Ogun-2 and Jigawa-1.
Till date, 202,704 cases have been confirmed, 191,370 cases have been discharged and 2,664 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
