COVID-19: Nigeria records 519 new cases, total now 200,057

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 519 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 200,057.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Tuesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 292 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 18 new COVID-19 related death were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,637.

The 519 new cases are reported from 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 120 new infections followed by Ondo-110, Rivers-74, Edo-63 and FCT-58.

Other states with new cases include Oyo-31, Kaduna-15, Bayelsa-11, Cross River-11, Delta-11, Kano-5, Ogun-4, Plateau-3, Adamawa-2 and Gombe-1.

Till date, 200,057 cases have been confirmed, 188,719 cases have been discharged and 2,637 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
