COVID-19: Nigeria records 521 new cases, total now 152,074

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 521 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 152,074.

The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Sunday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 614 Coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 8 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,839.

The 521 new cases are reported from 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country recorded 166 new infections followed by Ogun -52 and Rivers -47.

Other states with new cases include Adamawa -37, Ebonyi -37, Akwa Ibom -25, Osun -21, Bayelsa -18, Kaduna -17, Oyo -16, FCT -15, Ekiti -14, Kano -12, Edo -12, Borno -9, Yobe -8, Ondo -6, Nasarawa -4, Bauchi -2 and Kwara -3.

Till date, 152,074 cases have been confirmed, 128,619 cases have been discharged and 1,839 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
