COVID-19: Nigeria records 553 cases, total now 9,855

Nigeria on Saturday recorded new all-time high cases of COVID-19 infections in a single day.

The new figure according to the health agency in charge (NCDC) is 553 while the previous record was set on May 27 with 389 cases.The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on its official twitter handle put Nigeria total infections at 9,855.

According to NCDC, the new cases were reported from 14 states and the FCT with Lagos alone reporting 378 infections.

Meanwhile, 12 deaths were recorded putting total number of casualties at 273

The new 553 cases are as follows Lagos-378, FCT-52, Delta-23, Edo-22, Rivers-14, Ogun-13, Kaduna-12, Kano-9, Borno-7, Katsina-6, Jigawa-5, Oyo-5, Yobe-3, Plateau-3,Osun-1

The total  active cases in the country now is  6, 726
