COVID-19: Nigeria records 56 new cases, total now 66,439

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 56 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 66,439.

The NCDC disclose this via its official website on Monday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 165 coronavirus patients who were treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result while 1 new fatality was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll to 1,168.

The 56 new cases are reported from 9 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).  

Kaduna led the infections chart of the day with 18 new cases followed by FCT -17.

Other states with new cases include Lagos -6, Plateau -5, Kano -3, Kwara -2, Yobe -2, Ekiti -1, Niger -1 and Rivers -1.

Till date, 66,439 cases have been confirmed, 62,241 cases have been discharged and 1,168 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
