COVID-19: Nigeria records 57 new cases, total now 213,589

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 57 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 213,589.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Sunday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 32 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,794.   

The 57 new cases are reported from 10 states of the federation. 

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country topped the day’s infections chart with 30 new cases followed by Enugu -9 and Rivers -7.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna-3, Osun-3, Abia-1, Bauchi-1, Kano-1, Ogun-1 and Plateau-1

Till date, 213,589 cases have been confirmed 206,518 cases have been discharged and 2,974 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
