COVID-19: Nigeria records 571 new cases, total now 153,187
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 571 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 153,187.
The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Tuesday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 643 Coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 12 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,874.
The 571 new cases are reported from 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country recorded 170 new infections followed by Ogun -65, FCT -45,
Other states with new cases include Kwara -34, Abia -32, Enugu -32, Kano -25, Oyo -22, Ondo -21, Rivers -19, Kaduna -19, Benue -18, Bayelsa -12, Kebbi -12, Nasarawa -11, Akwa Ibom -9, Delta -8, Ekiti -6, Niger -5, Bauchi -3 and Imo -3.
Till date, 153,187 cases have been confirmed, 129,943 cases have been discharged and 1,874 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
