COVID-19: Nigeria records 59 new cases, as total hits 63,790
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 59 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the country to 63.790.
The NCDC made this know via its verified twitter handle on Saturday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 40 patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres across the nation bringing total number of discharged patients to 59,884.
The 59 new cases are reported from 8 states.
Kaduna recorded the highest number of infections of the day with 28 new cases followed by Rivers -9, Ogun -8 and Ondo -8.
Other states with new cases include Kano -2, Niger -2, Kwara -1 and Plateau -1
Till date, the NCDC has conducted 681,599 tests since the first confirmed case was announced in the country.
A total of 63,790 cases have been confirmed, 59,884 cases have been discharged and 1,154 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
