COVID-19: Nigeria records 61 new cases, total now 213,464

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 61 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 213,464.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Thursday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 47 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result. 

The 61 new cases are reported from 8 states of the federation.

Gombe topped the day’s infections chart with 16 new cases followed by Taraba-15 and Zamfara-14.

Other states with new cases include FCT-7, Kano-2, Lagos-2, Rivers-2, Bauchi-1, Delta-1 and Katsina-1.

Till date, 213,464 cases have been confirmed 206,292 cases have been discharged and 2,973 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
