COVID-19: Nigeria records 626 new cases, total now 192,431
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 626 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 192,431.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Tuesday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 267 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 14 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,469.
The 626 new cases are reported from 9 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 334 new cases followed by Rivers -134.
Other states with new cases include Oyo -60, FCT -41, Osun -20, Plateau -14, Ogun -9, Ekiti -7, Kwara -6, and Benue -1.
Till date, 192,431 cases have been confirmed, 178,759 cases have been discharged and 2,469 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
