COVID-19: Nigeria records 634 new cases, total now 154,476

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 634 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 154,476.

The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 881 Coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 6 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,891.

The 634 new cases are reported from 21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country recorded 259 new infections followed by Osun -45, Edo-38 and Ogun -35.

Other states with new cases include FCT -33, Anambra -26, Imo -24, Ondo -24, Akwa Ibom -20, Plateau -20, Abia -19, Kaduna -19, Ebonyi -17, Borno -10, Rivers -10, Kano -9, Delta -8, Kebbi -7, Nasarawa -4, Oyo -3, Enugu -2 and Ekiti -2

Till date, 154,476 cases have been confirmed, 131,699 cases have been discharged and 1,891 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
