COVID-19: Nigeria records 645 new cases, total now 151,553

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 645 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 151,553.

The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Sunday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 505 Coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 18 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,831.

The 645 new cases are reported from 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country recorded 282 new infections followed by Ogun -72 and FCT -50.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna -33, Osun -24, Imo -23, Abia -21, Borno -18, Oyo -17, Edo -15, Nasarawa -15, Taraba -14, Ekiti -11, Ondo -11, Plateau -11, Kano -10, Rivers -7, Delta -5, Bauchi -3, and Jigawa -3.

Till date, 151,553 cases have been confirmed, 128,005 cases have been discharged and 1,831 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
