COVID-19: Nigeria records 65 new cases, total now 212,894

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 65 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 212,894.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Tuesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 340 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 8 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,922.

The 65 new cases are reported from 8 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Plateau topped the day’s infections chart with 22 new cases followed by FCT -21 and Rivers -12.

Other states with new cases include Bauchi-4, Lagos-2, Bayelsa-1, Edo-1, Jigawa-1 and Kaduna-1.

Till date, 212,894 cases have been confirmed 204,675 cases have been discharged and 2,922 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
