COVID-19: Nigeria records 674 new cases, total now 185,267

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 674 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 185,267.

The NCDC disclosed this via its official facebook page on Thursday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 185 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 8 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,244.

The 674 new cases are reported from 16 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 355 new infections followed by Rivers -87, FCT-38, Ogun-33, Akwa Ibom-32 and Oyo-32.

Other states with new cases include Edo-22, Ekiti-20, Kwara-17, Delta-12, Bayelsa-8, Gombe-5, Kaduna-4, Osun-4, Enugu-2, Nasarawa-2 and Plateau-1.

Till date, 185,267 cases have been confirmed, 167, 923 cases have been discharged and 2,244 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
