COVID-19: Nigeria records 675 new cases, as total hits 71,344

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 675 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 71,344.

The NCDC made this known via its official website Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 232 coronavirus patients who were successfully treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result while 6 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,190.

The 675 new cases are reported from 15 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT tops the day’s infection chart with 183 new cases followed by Lagos -128, Kaduna -85, Kwara -57 and Katsina -50.

Other states with new cases include Plateau -42, Rivers -39, Kano -33, Ondo -21, Ogun -17, Bauchi -10, Sokoto -5, Edo -2, Ekiti -1, Bayelsa -1, and Delta-1

Till date, 71,344 cases have been confirmed, 65,474 cases have been discharged and 1,190 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
