COVID-19: Nigeria records 685 new cases, total now 131,242
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 685 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 131,242.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Sunday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 1,277 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged while 8 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The 685 new cases are reported from 16 states of the federation.
Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country topped the days’ infections chart with 355 new cases followed by Kaduna -58, Nasarawa -46 and Kano -40.
Other states with new cases include Akwa Ibom -33, Katsina -26, Ogun -25, Osun -21, Rivers -16, Edo -15, Oyo -13, Ondo -12, Borno -11, Ekiti -9, Kebbi -3, and Plateau -2
Till date, 131,242 cases have been confirmed, 104,989 cases have been discharged and 1,586 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
