COVID-19: Nigeria records 711 new cases, total now 211,171

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 711 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 211,171.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Monday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 295 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 2 new COVID-19 related death were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,884.

The 711 new cases are reported from 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Delta topped the day’s infections chart with 508 new cases followed by Plateau-41, Rivers-40, FCT-32 and Enugu-24.

Other states with new cases include Lagos-19, Imo-16, Cross River-9, Ekiti-9, Abia-4, Benue-3, Kano-3, Bauchi-1, Bayelsa-1 and Ogun-1.

Till date, 211,171 cases have been confirmed 202,674 cases have been discharged and 2,884 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
