COVID-19: Nigeria records 74 new cases, total now 211,961

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 74 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 211,961.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Sunday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 41 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,896.

The 74 new cases are reported from 7 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Benue topped the day’s infections chart with 49 new cases followed by Enugu -6, and Osun -6.

Other states with new cases include Kano-5, Oyo-4, FCT-2, Bayelsa-1 and Ogun-1.

Till date, 211,961 cases have been confirmed 203,121 cases have been discharged and 2,896 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
