COVID-19: Nigeria records 82 new cases, total now 213,403

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 82 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 213,403.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 39 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.  

The 82 new cases are reported from 8 states of the federation.

Rivers topped the day’s infections chart with 52 new cases followed by Kano-9 and Kebbi-6.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna-5, Plateau-5, Enugu-3, Bauchi-1 and Lagos-1.

Till date, 213,403 cases have been confirmed 206,245 cases have been discharged and 2,973 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
