COVID-19: Nigeria records 82 new cases, total now 67,412

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 82 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 67,412.

The NCDC made this known via its official website on Sunday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 236 coronavirus patients who were successfully treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result increasing the total number of discharged patients to 63,055.

The 82 new cases are reported from 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 48 new infections followed by Rivers -8, Kwara -6 and Yobe -6.

Other states with new cases include Katsina -5, FCT-3, Nasarawa -2, Plateau -1, Ogun -1, Kano -1 and Osun -1.

Till date, 67,412 cases have been confirmed, 63,055 cases have been discharged and 1,173 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
