COVID-19: Nigeria records 828 new cases, total now 223,483

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 828 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 223,483.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday.    

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 149 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result

The 828 new cases are reported from 13 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Rivers topped the day’s infections chart with 188 new cases followed by Lagos -183, Delta -97, FCT -82, Oyo -67 and Edo -54.

Other states with new cases include Ekiti -34, Plateau -34, Kano -27, Anambra -22, Kaduna -19, Enugu -12, Ogun -5 and Kwara -4.

Till date, 223,483 cases have been confirmed 211,522 cases have been discharged and 2,984 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
