COVID-19: Nigeria records 864 new cases, total now 127,024

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 864 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 127,024.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 488 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres while 3 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,547.

The 864 new cases are reported from 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the days’ infection chart with 129 new cases followed by Anambra -87, Rivers -82 and Benue -80.

Other states with new cases include Oyo -76, Plateau -61, Kaduna -54, Delta -51, Nasarawa -38, Kwara -36, Edo -32, Katsina -26, Kano -24, Taraba -18, Ogun -14, Sokoto -11, Gombe -10, Jigawa -7, Akwa Ibom -6, Cross River -6, Zamfara -5, Bauchi -5, Osun -4, and Ekiti -2.

Till date, 127024 cases have been confirmed, 100853 cases have been discharged and 1547 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
