COVID-19: Nigeria records 87 new cases, total now 212,446
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 87 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 212,446.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Thursday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 37 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 2 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,902.
The 209 new cases are reported from 8 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Zamfara topped the day’s infections chart with 29 new cases followed by FCT-25 and Rivers-11.
Other states with new cases include Kano-8, Bauchi-5, Gombe-4, Lagos-3 and Jigawa-2.
Till date, 212,446 cases have been confirmed 204,047 cases have been discharged and 2,902 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
