COVID-19: Nigeria records 87 new cases, total now 255,190

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 87 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of infections in the country to 255,190.

The health agency (NCDC) disclosed this via its official microsite on Tuesday.

Data from the health agency reveals that 16 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged after receiving their second negative result.

The 87 new cases were reported from 5 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 34 new infections followed by FCT -23 and Rivers -21.

Other states with new cases include Osun -4, Kano -3 and Kaduna -2.

Till date, 255,190 have been confirmed 249,476 cases have been discharged and 3,142 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
